• This course takes an in-depth look at the diagnosis of periodontal disease.
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download. 
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

The aim of this course is to provide dental hygienists and therapists an update on periodontal diagnosis and risk assessment.

During this course learners will be able to:

• Recognize the importance of diagnosis in periodontal disease.
• Recognize the risk factors associated with periodontal disease.
• Identify categories of periodontal disease using the 2017 classification.

After completing this course the learner will gain an understanding of:

• How to make an accurate diagnosis.
• The 2017 classification of periodontal disease.
• The role of the dental team in diagnosing periodontal disease.
