- This course explores different obturation techniques and fillers.
- You will be presented with a short video followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
- Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
- If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.
Aims
This course aims to enhance the knowledge and technique on obturation to enable high-quality endodontic treatments to be achieved.
Objectives
During this course learners will be able to:
- Describe common obturation methods.
- Select the appropriate obturation technique for different endodontic cases.
- Define the ideal properties of an endodontic sealer.
- Discuss the benefits of heated versus cold filling techniques.
- Discuss the constituents of bioceramic sealers.
- Explain the techniques required to use a variety of obturation techniques successfully.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course the learner will gain an understanding of:
- How 3D obturation of root canals influences patient outcomes.
- The ideal properties of an endodontic sealer.
- The selection of materials for temporary obturation.
- How to obturate with heated GP techniques.
- The challenge of obturating the shapes created by contemporary shaping instruments and techniques.
