Ultrasonic Bath Testing and Validation

Course Details

• All dental practices are required under HTM 01-05 to perform routine testing and validation of their decontamination equipment. This course will teach learners to understand what testing and validation are performed on an ultrasonic bath, why it is required and how the tests are performed. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course will provide learners with the details of the testing and validating requirements for ultrasonic baths in dental practices. 

Objectives

During this course the learner will be able to:

• Explain why a protein test is required on an ultrasonic bath.
• List the necessary parameters of an automatic control test on an ultrasonic bath.
• Explain why a cleaning efficacy test is performed on an ultrasonic bath.
• Determine whether an ultrasonic activity test has passed or failed. 
• Explain how often a protein test should be performed on an ultrasonic bath.
• Explain the differences between a protein residue test and a cleaning efficacy test.
• Describe how to perform all of the validation tests required by HTM 01-05.
