The Dental Therapist Scope of Practice

Course Details

• This course takes the learner through what is required and what is expected of a Dental Therapist. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to help learners understand the dental therapist's role by highlighting their scope of practice and importance within the profession.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Identify all aspects of the dental therapists scope of practice.
• Identify the role of the dental therapist in the dental team.
• Identify the positive impact dental therapists have on patients and their oral health.

Learning Outcomes

The learner will gain an understanding of:

• The role of the dental therapist in treating patients.
• The dental therapists scope of practice as set out by the General Dental Council.
• The importance of a dental therapist and their role within the multidisciplinary dental team.
