- This course takes an in-depth look at the content of the Dental Guidance Notes - 2nd Edition and draws attention to areas where the guidance differs from that in the first edition, or where new guidance has been introduced.
- You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
- If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.
Aims
This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of the Dental Guidance Notes - 2nd Edition, covering where the guidance differs from that in the first edition, or where new guidance has been introduced.
Objectives
During this course learners will be able to:

- Outline the principal requirements of relevant legislation, namely - The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, The Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulatons 2017and the associated guidance: Guidance Notes for Dental Practitioners on the Safe Use of X-Ray Equipment - 2nd Edition.
- Apply the basic principles of practical radiation protection in a dental practice.
