Course Details

  • Level 2 Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults is suitable for clinical staff.This course looks at signs of neglect, abuse and harm.
  • The course provides learners with an understanding of the effects of abuse on children, vulnerable adults,and their families.
  • We recommend that you complete the full series of training courses in this subject to ensure you have the required information to support you in this area.
  • You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
  • If you achieve 80% or more, you will pass the course and receive a certificate. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.
  • Once you have completed this course, please complete Safeguarding Level 2 (Part 3): Practice Responsibilities and Procedures for Safeguarding.

Aims

This course aims to ensure dental professionals can recognise potential signs of neglect, abuse, or harm. 

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Understand the meaning of a child at risk and an adult at risk
  • Understand who might be abused and who might be an abuser
  • Understand the term 'Looked After Child'
  • Recognise the signs of neglect, harm, and abuse
  • Understand the detrimental effects neglect, harm, and abuse can have on normal child development

  • Who might be abused and who might be an abuser
  • The term 'looked after child'
  • The signs of neglect, harm, and abuse
