Course Details

  • Level 1 Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults is suitable for non-clinical staff.
  • This course looks at the laws which surround safeguarding and provides learners with an understanding of why safeguarding measures are required.
  • You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
  • If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a certificate. 
  • If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.

         

Aims

This course aims to ensure non-clinical staff working in dental practices understand the legislation and guidance which surround safeguarding and to understand why safeguarding measures are required.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Describe why we need safeguarding measures in practice
  • Refer to the specific laws and guidance surrounding safeguarding children and adults at risk
  • Detail the GDC, CQC, and HIW standards and competencies in relation to safeguarding
  • Describe local multi-agency arrangements for safeguarding

  • The terms 'safeguarding' and 'abuse'
