Course Details

• This course takes an in-depth look at the first part of the GDC Standard 1 for the dental team - Put patients' interests first. It centres on the importance of listening to patients and brings together the guidance set for dental professionals by the GDC, Care Quality Regulators, and NICE. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download. 
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to explore practical aspects of the legal requirements, rules, guidance and best practice applying to Standard 1 of the GDC Standards for the dental team. 

Objectives

During this course learners will:

• Recognise relevant ethical requirements.
• Understand the underpinning principles of putting patients first.
• Define consistent ways of cooperating with colleagues to provide patient-centred care.
