Course Details

• This course takes an in-depth look at the guidelines to prevent, identify, and treat gingivitis.
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a downloadable certificate.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to provide all members of the dental team with information about prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gingivitis.

Objectives

Learners will be able to:

• Define gingivitis.
• List the symptoms and risk factors associated with gingivitis.
• Describe the management and treatment of people with gingivitis.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this module the learner will gain an understanding of:

• The role of the dental team in diagnosing and treating people with gingivitis.
• The aetiology of gingivitis.
• How to diagnose gingivitis using the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry classification of periodontal disease.
