Course Details
- The aim of this course is to provide dental staff with an understanding of First Aid procedures and how this information should be applied in their daily working lives.
- You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
- Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
- If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.
Aims
The aim of this course is to provide dental staff with an understanding of First Aid procedures and how this information should be applied in their daily working lives.
Objectives
During this course learners will be able to:
- Understand the principles of first aid.
- Perform CPR in an adults and children.
- Use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Provide first aid for people having a heart attack.
- Recognise choking and initiate an emergency response in adults and children.
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and know how to manage an anaphylaxis emergency.
- Provide first aid for people with severe bleeding.
- Provide first aid for people with burns.
- Provide first aid for people with fractures.
- Provide first aid for people who are having an asthma attack.
- Provide first aid for people who are having seizures.
- Provide first aid for people who are having a stroke.
Learning Outcomes
After completing this course the learner will gain an understanding of:
- The principles of first aid.
