  • You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
  • Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
  • If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to help learners understand the importance of human rights, equality, and diversity, and the laws which protect people against discrimination. 

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Understand the terms of Equality and Diversity and Human Rights and how they are applied within the context of the health sector.
  • Understand how a proactive inclusive approach to equality and diversity and human rights can be promoted.
  • Understand the purpose and benefits of monitoring equalities and health inequalities.
  • Understand the benefits that an effective approach to equality and diversity and human rights can have on society, organizations, and individuals.
  • Understand how legislation, organizational policies and processes can empower individuals to act appropriately and understand people's rights.
  • Understand how to treat everyone with dignity, courtesy, and respect and value people as individuals.
  • Understand what to do if there are concerns about equality and diversity practices, including how to use any local whistleblowing policy procedures and other related policies such as Bullying at Work and Dignity at Work.
