Course Details

• This course takes a look at dementia, the importance of understanding people with this condition, and implementing this understanding in your work. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download. 
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to provide an understanding of the issues faced by people with dementia to enable dental professionals to adapt their approach during consultations.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Work with carers and or family members to treat people diagnosed with dementia. 
• Understand the importance of the Mental Capacity Act. 
• Understand how to assess capacity.

• The stages of dementia.
• What is meant by lasting power of attorney.
