Course Details

This module will take approximately 40 minutes to complete. 

It includes the following elements. 

  • It is designed for all team members to assist with their understanding of what Being Open/Duty of Candour means and how this information should be applied in their daily working lives.
  • You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
  • Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
  • If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of this course is to assist team members with their understanding of what Being Open/Duty of Candour means and how this information should be applied in their daily working lives.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course the learner will gain an understanding of:

  • What the GDC expects of us in relation to the duty of candour.
  • The general duty of candour and the involvement of the entire dental team.
  • The understanding of what is a notifiable safety incident.
