Course Details

• This course takes a look at the process of audit, why it is important in the delivery of clinical governance and the consistent provision of patient care. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to outline the necessity for audit and risk assessment in line with the General Dental Council and Care Quality Commission's standards.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Identify areas within the provision of primary dental care that require audit.
• Identify the fundamental standards required in the process of audit.
• Conduct an audit that improves service delivery to patients.
• Communicate findings to the team using a structured report.

After completing this course the learner will gain an understanding of:

• The requirements for audit, risk assessment, and evaluation.
• How to implement an audit and how to evaluate the information gathered appropriately.
• The importance of a team approach to audit.
