Course Details

  • The aim of this course is to assist staff with their understanding of what is involved in Adult Basic Life Support and how and when to apply it in their daily working lives. 
  • This course forms part of a blended learning training tool and is designed to support practical learning which is the prefered method of learning by the GDC for CPR/BLS/AED.
  • You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
  • Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download. 
  • If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of this course is to assist staff with their understanding of what is involved in Adult Basic Life Support and how and when to apply it in their daily working lives.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Detail their organization's responsibilities.
  • Outline their own responsibilities.
  • Initiate an appropriate emergency response.
  • Respond immediately to a patient suffering from cardiac arrest.
  • Care for the patient in an appropriate way following the practice protocols.
