Course Details

  • All dental practices are required under HTM 01-05, to perform routine testing and validation of their decontamination equipment. This course will help learners to understand what testing and validation are required for a washer-disinfector, why it is required, and how tests are performed. 
  • You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
  • Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download. 
  • If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course provides learners with the fundamentals of testing and validating a washer-disinfector within a dental practice. 

Objectives

During this course learners will:

  • Be able to comprehend the meaning of testing and validating washer-disinfectors.
  • Understand what a protein test is and how it can be performed on a washer-disinfector.
  • Understand what a cleaning efficacy test is and how it can be performed on a washer-disinfector.
