Course Details

• This course comprises an outline of the requirements and skills needed to work as an effective team. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of this course is to equip dental professionals with the knowledge and skills to work effectively as part of a dental team, in line with the General Dental Council (GDC) standards. Learners will improve communication, collaboration, and patient outcomes while upholding professional responsibilities.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Identify factors that contribute to effective teamwork in dental practice, reflecting the GDC's requirement to work collaboratively and treat colleagues with respect.
• Recognise common challenges that impact team performance and understand how these can affect patient safety and care quality.
• Reflect on personal communication and collaboration skills, demonstrating accountability and professionalism as expected by the GDC.
• Apply strategies to improve team support, delegation, and role clarity, ensuring responsibilities are carried out safely and efficiently.
• Understand the link between teamwork, patient safety, and staff morale, reinforcing the GDC's focus on delivering safe, high-quality care.
