Course Details

• This course takes an in-depth look at guided bone regeneration. The basic principles of grafting are discussed, with a focus on the importance of stabilisation, which is demonstrated by the use of an implant supported titanium mesh membrane.
• You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
• If you achieve 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a printable certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident.

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of guided bone regeneration. The basic principles of grafting are explained, with a focus on the importance of stabilisation, which is demonstrated by the use of an implant supported titanium mesh membrane.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Understand the basic principles of guided bone regeneration.
• Discuss the importance of stabilisation of the graft and how this can be achieved.
• Discuss the method of using implant supported titanium mesh to stabilise a graft.
• Explain the importance of soft tissue closure in such cases, and methods for achieving this predictably.
