Course Details

• This course aims to provide learners with an in-depth look at the transportation, packaging and storage of dental instruments.
• You will be presented with a lecture followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with an understanding of the legislation and associated protocols pertaining to transportation, packaging and storage of instruments in the dental environment.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Discuss the attributes of transportation boxes.
• Explain the protocols for leaving instruments overnight.
• Discuss storage periods and the relevant local legislation.
• Outline pouching requirements for both vacuum and non-vacuum sterilisers.

After completing this course the learner will gain an understanding of:

• The importance of packaging integrity.
• The first-in, first-out stock rotation protocol.
• How to correctly use holding solutions.
• How to store unpouched instruments.
