Aims

In dental practice carrying out a comprehensive extra and intra-oral examination is of utmost importance. This course aims to provide an in-depth look at the anatomy, pathology, and the differential diagnosis of oral cancer as well as discussing the various conditions that can present in the mouth and perioral tissues.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

  • Explain the importance of early detection of mouth cancer. 
  • Understand the histological effects of epithelial dysplasia and visual appearance of these changes. 
  • Outline the difference between benign and malignant oral tumours.
