Course Details

• This course takes an in-depth look at the use of medical gases in dentistry and the dental professional's responsibilities in relation to medical gases. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a downloadable certificate.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of the course is to provide basic knowledge of the various medical gases used in dentistry, their presentation and relevant legislation.

Objectives

After completing this course learners will be able to:

• Define medical gases and their use in dentistry.
• Identify a range of medical gas cylinders.
• Refer to the legislation relevant to medical gases.

Learning Outcomes

During this course the learner will understand:

• How to prepare a medical gas cylinder for use.
• How to minimise risks, handle and where relevant, store medical gas cylinders safely.
• The dangers of medical gases and the appropriate precautions that must be implemented to ensure safety during use.
