Course Details

• This course provides information on essential knowledge for dental teams about their medical emergency equipment kit.
• You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
• If you achieve a score of 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident to do so. 

Aims

This course aims to equip dental teams with essential knowledge about their medical emergency equipment kit. It focuses on what should be included in the kit, proper storage practices, team roles and responsibilities, compliance checks, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Objectives

During this course learners will be able to:

• Understand the components and purpose of medical emergency kits used in dental practices.
• Recognise the importance of maintaining correct equipment and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Identify team roles and responsibilities for organising and maintaining medical emergency equipment.
• Conduct adequate stock checks, maintain accurate record-keeping, and regularly train teams to ensure compliance.
• Implement procedures to prevent lapses in readiness, even during staff absences or role rotations.
• Implement effective quality assurance measures and ensure their consistent application.
• Respond effectively and confidently when emergencies or procedural lapses occur.
