Course Details

  • You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
  • Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
  • If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of this course is to equip the learner with knowledge of infection control enable clinical leadership within the practice.

Objectives

Engaging in this course learners will be able to:

  • Identify causes of infection and types of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores, prions).

  • Recognise the importance of maintaining high hygiene standards and infection prevention in clinical settings.
  • Differentiate between essential quality requirements and best practice.
  • Demonstrate a full decontamination process.
  • List recommended vaccinations for healthcare workers.
  • Follow correct procedures for spillages and waste segregation.
  • Create and maintain validation records and infection control policies.
  • Understand audit requirements, record-keeping, and CQC inspection expectations.
