Course Details

• This course takes a look at forensic dentistry history, methods, and means used for identification purposes. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with the principal reasons for maintaining and recording accurate, current, detailed, and legible dental records so they can be utilized during the identification process.

Objectives

Learners will be able to:

• Recognize and describe the identification methods used in forensic dentistry.
• Explain what constitutes a mass fatality incident.
• Discuss forensic dental history and its use in criminal cases.
• Explain a forensic odontologist's role within a disaster response team.
