Course Details

• This course takes an in-depth look at the legal, ethical, and clinical considerations involved in dental implant treatments.
• You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
• If you achieve a score of 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident to do so.

• Improve Diagnosis & Treatment Planning - Conduct thorough assessments, create clear treatment plans, and manage patient expectations.
• Identify High-Risk Cases - Spot red flags, assess case complexity, and document risks effectively.
• Ensure Proper Consent - Differentiate between informed consent and sales tactics, and follow best practices for patient communication.
• Manage Implant-Specific Risks - Clarify responsibilities in shared-care cases, ensure proper indemnity, and maintain detailed records.
• Enhance Record-Keeping - Accurately document treatment, consent, complications, and follow-up care.
• Reduce Legal Risk - Set clear expectations, follow structured consent processes, and handle complaints effectively.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Explain the legal and regulatory framework governing dental implant treatment, including key responsibilities under GDC and CQC/HIS/HIW/RQIA regulations.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop structured treatment plans that align with legal and ethical standards.
