  • This course takes an in-depth look at the challenges that dementia patients have, particularly the elderly, in accessing dental care. The importance of preventive strategies will be discussed. Additionally the the role of dental professionals in managing the oral health of dementia patients, focusing on evidence-based guidelines and best practices will be covered.
  • You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
  • If you achieve a score of 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident to do so. 

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by dementia patients, particularly the elderly, in accessing dental care, and to highlight the importance of preventive strategies. It will discuss the role of dental professionals in managing the oral health of dementia patients, focusing on evidence-based guidelines and best practices.

Objectives
