Course Details

• This course covers the relationship dynamics between dental nurses and patients and the importance of communication. 
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download.
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of the importance of dental nurse and patient relationships, and the role of effective communication.

Objectives

During this course learners will:

• Be able to identify the fundamental standards as required by the GDC.
• Understand what effective communication means.
• Understand the need to apply different communication skills to individual patients.
• Be more confident and effective at communication.
• Be able to adapt communication skills in a patient-centred way.
