Course Details

• This course covers the principles of active listening, attitudes, values and beliefs, and patient's rights and responsibilities.
• You will be presented with a coursebook followed by an assessment with options for feedback and reflection.
• Once you have achieved a mark of 80% or more, you will be presented with a certificate to download. 
• If you do not pass you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment.

Aims

This course includes information about learning styles and a communication-based typology personality rule. 

Objectives

During this course learners will:

• Understand the concept of enhanced listening skills.
• Recognize individual patients' communication needs.
• Ensure that patients' views are recognized and respected.
• Understand how to build aspects of patient education into patient consultations.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course learners will be able to:

• Define the ways that dental professionals can enhance patients' dental experiences by developing their knowledge and understanding of how to strengthen and maintain feelings of wellbeing.
• Recognize patients' communication needs and use enhanced communication processes such as typology theories to enable patients to make informed decisions about treatment.
