  • This course takes an in-depth look at how AI is currently being used in dentistry in the UK. It discusses the perspective of an indemnity organisation, the role of which is to help members to understand and reduce their risks within clinical practice.
  • You will be presented with a short presentation followed by an assessment.
  • If you achieve a score of 80% or more, you pass the course and will receive a certificate to place in your CPD folder. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and retake the assessment when you feel confident to do so. 

Aims

This course aims to enable learners to understand how AI is currently being used in dentistry in the UK, and understand the perspective of an indemnity organisation, the role of which is to help members to understand and reduce their risks within clinical practice.

Objectives

During the course learners will be able to:

  • Discuss the current use of AI in UK dentistry and how this might evolve.
  • Outline the issues around the fast-evolving area of AI, what the likely current and possible future risks are, and how to take steps to mitigate those risks to protect patients, and to avoid negligence claims and regulatory involvement.
